Where we are and what we do

The Old Mill Stores is located on the N71 in Connonagh Village between Clonakilty and Skibbereen, west Cork, Ireland.

The Old Mill Stores is on the main west Cork road (the N71) in the village of Connonagh between Rosscarbery and Leap. The shop has become something of a Mecca for shoppers travelling on the west Cork Wild Atlantic route. We live over and under the shop. Part of the building really was originally a Provender’s mill that was powered by the Roury River that’s in our back garden. We like it very much!

Our opening hours vary from season to season so if travelling from afar please make sure our opening hours suit you or contact us to arrange a personalised visit.

The Old Mill Stores began life as Ovne Antique Stoves (of Harry Potter fame) 20 odd years ago in Dublin (we still sell them) but we relocated to west Cork in 2000. The idea to reinvent and expand Ovne came about when we spotted a gap in the market here for unusual, beautiful & more design-led homewares and gifts. In 2012 The Old Mill Stores was born and has been growing (up) ever since.  For stove inquiries contact TOM on 086 8555635 or 028 34917.

Our Buying Ethos

Our buying ethos is four-fold: if something is well-designed, high quality, works well and is appropriately priced, we’ll consider it!

We are trying to push the envelope and sell items unique to us. We aim for a personally curated stock of household goods, gifts and crafts that embody style, quality, function and fun!
